This weekend was hectic! My mom, dad, Cooper and I went up to Ocala to pack up a U-haul full of my grandmother’s furniture to take back to Orlando (for Cooper and I) and Melbourne (for my parents). It was a lot of hard work loading that U-haul up. Cooper tries to tell me that he does all the heavy lifting, but it is definitely ME.
One of the pieces of furniture was a much-needed dresser. Poor Cooper has a teeny tiny closet and keeps complaining that he has no where to keep his clothes since I took the two master bedroom closets (both of which are also VERY SMALL). Downtown Orlando houses lack serious closet space. A lot of downtown houses are very, very old…and they didn’t wear any clothes back then?
I will be sure to take a picture of the guest room, aka my “room sized closet,” with the new dresser. The room already had two shoe racks, one of those closets that you assemble yourself, one dresser, and Cooper’s closet…hence why the entire room doubles as a closet.
Let It Snow!
I know, I know…snow in Florida is OUT of the question, but all this cooler weather makes me think of Christmas and the holiday season! When I lived in Virginia, we used to get cold weather come October, and we would really have to bundle up!
I can remember drinking gallons of hot tea, just to warm up from the inside-out. The Virginia weather used to really made it feel like the holidays were just around the corner…not so much in Florida. So I am taking advantage of the cooler weather in Florida (mid 50’s in the morning) while it lasts here and this morning I made sure to stop by Publix and stock up on holiday “tastes”.
Brown Sugar Maple? Pumpkin Spice? Warm Cinnamon Sugar Cookie? Yes please!! Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, can you guess which one I dipped into first?
To keep the “cold weather” mentality going, I cranked up the Christmas music, and drank my coffee warm!
Yum! It tasted just like drinking a warm pumpkin pie!
And now I think it is time for mug #2! Christmas music and pumpkin pie coffee sure do ease the sting of Monday morning!
QUESTION: Does cooler weather make it feel like the holiday season to you?
Florida weather does make it kind of hard to feel “holiday-ish”, but I’ll take this version of a cold front if it’s what I can get! Those new creamer flavors sound absolutely awesome – especially the pumpkin pie!
It sure does…the second I have to stop wearing flip flops daily and start remembering to bring a hoodie to work with me I start to remember that the holidays are just around the corner! I love it.
